Encryption happens in your browser. The key only leaves your device inside the link – the server never sees it.
How it works
Files are encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded. The key lives only in the share link (after the #) and is never sent to the server – so the server only ever stores an encrypted blob. Add a password for a second factor, set an expiry, or enable burn-after-reading. If you lose the link (and password), the file cannot be recovered.

Decryption happens locally in your browser.
How it works
The file is downloaded encrypted and decrypted locally in your browser using the key from the link. The server never sees the key or the contents. A successful decryption also proves the file was not tampered with (authenticated encryption).
